“Understanding HIV/AIDS in the Workplace”
Fact: Improved HIV care and treatment is resulting in increasing numbers of people living with HIV in the workplace and as candidates for employment. While many people living with HIV in 2015 will need no or minimal accommodation on the job, it’s important for employers to become informed and implement policies and strategies to maximize benefits of retaining and hiring effective employees who are living with HIV.
Our Lead Presenter, Mark Misrok, MS Ed, CRC, President, Board of Directors, National Working Positive Coalition, will provide the context and overview of our topic. Our Business Presenters from Levi Strauss & Co.: Joanne Lim-Pousard, Senior Manager of LS&Co.’s Employee HIV/AIDS Program, and Patrick Holzfaster, LS&Co. Western District Manager – Retail, who’s long been active in HIV education and anti-stigma efforts within the company will share the history and model practices of Levi Strauss & Co. responding proactively with HIV employee policies, programs and education.
